(Virtual Remote Interpreting)
Interpreting can be provided via Zoom, Facetime or another video calling software accessible to you.
Interpreting (Auslan English) services via VRI can be provided for any of the settings outlined or any other setting pending a booking request.
Medical
Auslan Interpreter WA provides NAATI credentialed Auslan–English interpreting services across a range of private and community medical and allied health settings.
Please note: Public hospitals are responsible for providing interpreters through their language services. For private medical and allied health appointments, Auslan Interpreter WA can be contacted directly for bookings.
Services can include:
- General Practitioner (GP) appointments
- Private hospital and specialist appointments
- Surgical consultations
- X-Rays, ultrasounds, and MRI appointments
- Dietitian appointments
- Naturopath appointments
- Occupational Therapy (OT)
- Speech Pathology
- Chiropractic appointments
- Physiotherapy appointments
- Allied health and wellbeing services
- Other appointments as required

Centrelink will provide interpreting services for appointments using registered Interpreters and interpreting agencies. Please note: The Employee Assistance Fund is NOT NDIS related funding. EAF is financial assistance for “work related modifications, equipment, Auslan services and workplace assistance and support services” (“Employment Assistance Fund EAF) | Job Access”, 2020) If you have any questions about your training and employment access needs, please feel free to complete the contact form for referrals to appropriate organisations for further assistance.
Training & Employment
Are you wanting to upskill via private training or workshops? Government run organisations and workplaces should provide Interpreting services using Interpreting agencies. Employers can access financial assistance through the Employment Assistant Fund (EAF) to provide Interpreters and assistive equipment for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees in the workplace.
For More Information
Mental Health settings such as counselling or psychology services are not included. If you require an Interpreter for Mental Health settings please request a Certified Interpreter (Level 3) from an agency or visit the NAATI website.

Do you have fitness and wellbeing goals? You can make an interpreting services request for:
- Personal Trainer session (group sessions and one-on-one)
- Gym and Pool classes (Group classes)
- Mindfulness workshops
- Naturopath appointments
- Pilates classes
- Video on Demand (such as Les Mills)
- Youtube Painting or Craft Tutorials
- Other
